I just pulled my credit report and .............??

I see a few things on here that are showing neg to my credit and I have no idea who or what it is. Where do I get the phone numbers or addresses to these companies so I can contact them myself to ask?? My report didn't come with that information. I don't want to dispute until I know what it is .....or should I just dispute? Will the credit bureaus give that information to me? Please help!

You might want to look at your credit report again. I have been doing credit repair for years and I have never seen a report without an address or phone number for the collection agency reporting the negative information.

Weather by the Numbers (Hardcover)

Winning entry, Professional Cover/Jacket Category, in the 2009 New England Book Show sponsored by Bookbuilders of Boston. and Winner, History Category, 2008 ASLI`s Choice Award given by the Atmospheric Science Librarians International. For much of the first half of the twentieth century, meteorology was more art than science, dependent on an individual forecaster`s lifetime of local experience. In Weather by the Numbers, Kristine Harper tells the story of the transformation of meteorology from a "guessing science" into a sophisticated scientific discipline based on physics and mathematics. What made this possible was the development of the electronic digital computer; earlier attempts at numerical weather prediction had foundered on the human inability to solve nonlinear equations quickly enough for timely forecasting. After World War II, the combination of an expanded observation network developed for military purposes, newly trained meteorologists, savvy about math and physics, and the nascent digital computer created a new way of approaching atmospheric theory and weather forecasting.Harper examines the efforts of meteorologists to professionalize their discipline during the interwar years and the rapid expansion of personnel and observational assets during World War II. She describes how, by the 1950s, academic, Weather Bureau, and military meteorologists had moved atmospheric modeling from research subject to operational forecasting. Challenging previous accounts that give sole credit for the development of numerical weather prediction to digital computer inventor John von Neumann, Harper points to the crucial contributions of Carl-Gustav Rossby (founder of MIT`s meteorology program and a member of the "Scandinavian Tag Team" working with von Neumann). This transformation of a discipline, Harper writes, was the most important intellectual achievement of twentieth-century meteorology, and paved the way for

What does Credit/ No credit mean? For College?

Im in community college, and i was wondering what credit / no credit means. Im an English major, and want to transfer to SDSU so in my required and non required classes, what should i elect, credit or no credit?

credit/no credit is the same as pass/fail grading. If you pass you get credit if you don't pass then you don't get credit. But, there's no grade assigned and it doesn't count in your GPA.

That can cause a problem with transfers because most colleges have minimum grade requirements to transfer a class - usually a C. And, major courses require a C as do pre-requisites.

It's always best to take your courses for credit with one exception. Let's say you're really bad at math but you want to take some math classes to improve your skill. You don't want to risk getting a C, D, or F and damaging your GPA so you register C/NC or P/F and it doesn't count in your GPA. If you pass then you can take the next class, if you fail you can take it over - with no GPA damage. This could be any sort of class that you'd like to take in order to learn something but don't want to risk damage to your GPA.

There is also a provision at some colleges that no credit means the same as audit. That is, you attend class and do assignments but you get no grade (and no credit) for the course. These won't transfer anywhere but you learn the same material and often pay less.

Is there anything I can do to remove inquiry?

A company made a hard inquiry by mistake. I did what was told by the Credit Bureau, which is basicly ask the company to send a letter to the Credit Bureau explaining inquiry was a mistake and asking for a removal of inquiry from my report. The company did such because they sent to me a copy of such letter. Now the Inquiry is still in my report and I have told them that I have and the company done our part to remove such inquiry. They told me to resend a copy of the letter I have. So I did. They still do not remove this. Is there anything else I can do?
The mistake made was basicly they pulled my report with a name similar to mine but not entirely. Which I still do not understand how could the Credit Bureau allow reports to be pulled even if the names are not exactly the same.

You actually may have a good case for violations of the FCRA by both the company that did the hard inquiry and the CRA if they refuse to remove it.

For the Company that did the FCRA. You would need to know what they did in order to pull your credit report. They need to take a reasonable effor to make sure that they pull the right credit report. The story does seem strange that they pulled your report because of a SIMILAR name. With all the similarities in names they must have had the SSN. It would be up to a judge if what they did was reasonable.

As for the Credit Reporting Agency(CRA). You have to follow specific steps in order to claim a violation with them. You MUST send your dispute along with a copy of your proof(the letter) to the CRA in question. This must be by Certified Mail with a return receipt. This is your only proof you have that they received it. They then have 30-45 days(depending on how you got a copy of your report) to respond to the dispute. If after that time they still do not remove it you can then go forward with the suit for the CRA.

credit terms contract
My credit card company sent me a new card, and the fine print states new unfavorable terms. Can they do this?

I received a letter a week ago stating my account may have been comprimised and a new card is being sent. Upon reciept there was a huge fine print note encolosed with my card pasted to a card that looked like nothing has changed and all I have to do is activate it and accept the terms of my contract.
The new terms is for $500 less (which I would not have known if I did not read the fine print) and if I go over the balance, I will pay fees and accept a higher interest rate and no points from then on; also this bank can demand full payment at anytime.
This makes me fear that they are after my home and this fine print is not on my original contract. Can this bank force me to accept the new terms or close my creadit card that has 40,000 points accumulated?

To answer your question yes they can and a lot of credit card companies are doing the same thing all over the nation due to the credit crunch.

Your one of the lucky ones actually, a lot of people are simply getting their cards closed with no notice.
