Excel Formula Help - trying to work out bill repayments?
Im struggling with my excel math formula, Im wondering if you can help.
Ive got how much I owe on my credit card and overdraft and created a table showing my expected monthly profit after bills food etc. What I want to do (if possible) is deduct this from my credit card (as i am charged interest on this but I aren't too bothered about the interest because it isn't massive) and when thats cleared (gone to zero) in a different square i want this profit to start deducting itself from my interest free overdraft.

I'm not exactly sure I understand your question, but it sure sounds possible with Excel. You'll most likely need a conditional statement, something like:
=IF(A7>0,100,0)
or
=IF(A7>0,"Yes","No")
In both cases, you're checking a value in cell A7, then "if true" enter the first value and "if false" enter the second value. So you should be able to make another column for your profit and when the balance = 0, use a conditional statement to begin "deducting itself from my interest free overdraft"

What is so hard about paying off your credit card balance every month?
I never understand why people think using credit cards is the sure fire way to go into debt. I've been using credit cards now for over 20 years and I have always made sure to pay off the balance every month. Not only is it very convenient, but I get tons of free perks as well. I get 5% off of my gas, 3% off at all restaurants, free rewards, etc. I pay for EVERYTHING via credit card. I love the fact that fast food places are now accepting credit cards as well.
I also want to personally thank all the irresponsible folks that carry credit card balances. I wouldn't get all the free perks I do if it wasn't for you. Thanks!
What a bunch of whiners. I've lost many a job over the years but I STILL have enough money in the bank to pay off my credit cards. It's called an emergency fund. Ever heard of it? I'm not saying there aren't exceptions to the rule. I sympathize with people who go into debt for medical reasons and other dire situations but that's the exception.
I think you make an excellent point and I couldn't agree more. What really bugs me is the fact that a lot of people live beyond their means and then whine and moan the fact that they can't pay off their credit card every month.
Yes, there are unfortunate situations that force people to go into credit card debt but I think coronakidcacher has made it clear that he is not referring to these exceptions. Most people just do not know how to control their spending and are thus irresponsible when it comes to credit cards.

Can you use their services if your entire business is "on the road" with trade shows? I noticed one rule in their contract that might prevent this. Also are they as good as they say they are? Do I need to purchase any credit card processing machine? such as the old "knuckle buster" machine? If not, how do I have a "hard copy" if I am going to process the transaction at home via the internet?
I use propay for my home based business, you can use it over the phone or their website, I usually write the cc info on the customers receipt, such as cc#, expiration date, ccv# from back of the card, you will also need their zip code this helps with verification (actually best to use customers entire billing address). If you use the trial package for processing, it's a little pricey when you process the cc, and it is a flat fee when you transfer to your bank account. I usually wait until I have more than one transaction before I will transfer to my personal account. The only thing I don't like is that it normally takes 2-5 business days before you can transfer funds to your own account then there is another waiting period for that. For example I processed a card on July 14, it was available for transfer on July 18, and was in my personal account on July 21. If you can deal with the fee's they charge and the time frame to wait on it to be available to you then I would go with them.

I have about $100k to start up a small business in LA area, So Cal. I will probably drop about 40k in the first 2 months.
I need to pick a bank. So far I've seen reams of poorly presented comparison info on negligible differences.
I do need checking obviously, and would llike bill pay. I want to turn interest on the unused capital. I need the bank to be friendly to credit card transactions, w/ minimum of fees. Wouldn't mind carrying credit card with the same bank, so need to think about associated fees and maybe a spending report.
Please list banks you think are good for me to consider. National, or at least multi-state only please.
I hear a lot of good things about Wells Fargo, Citibank, and Business Bank of California. I don't thing that you can go wrong with any of these. All of them offer complete corporate card programs and bill pay, too.
Also, you don't have to tie your credit card processing to your bank - it is a completely separate service. What most people don't know is that your bank's credit card processing services are usually offered by a completely different company that pays your bank for the customers generated. Look around for a processor that suits your needs and they will be able to deposit into your bank - no matter which bank you choose.
