I am looking to get out of my lease by having someone else take over it. I'm assuming I need to talk to my landlord, find out if the other people need to fill out an application & pay for the credit report to see if they are approved. That is basically right.....Just get the landlord's permission for the new Lessee/tenant to take over your lease and get a written release of liability from the landlord. You don't want the landlord coming back after you if the new tenant defaults.

Since this is an indirect tax it seems it has to be paid in addition to Income tax by Lessors who enjoy lease of property and not by the landlord who may have several tenants in a building in a designated Commercial area!
